Current Commission Projects

• Tree replacement and carving – The Commission is pursuing funding for planting new trees and converting dead trees into either statues or benches and other park furniture. Community input welcome!
• Safety/Security – The Commission is pricing options for addressing safety concerns in the park including replacing the gas line valve, adding motion lights, and other safety/security features as appropriate.
• Signage – The “Park Rules” sign needs to be reviewed and updated to meet current standards. The Commission is focusing on researching park rules, pricing options for printing a new sign, and considering options for updating the Memorial Sign for the park entrance.

Weston Parks and Rec Goals

• One year Goals – Currently completed or will be completed by July 2020: Park signs, kitchen upgrades (two commercial stove-tops w/ovens), rent stump grinder, install sensor lights & upgrade kitchen lighting/wiring. Remaining goals: Chain link fence needs moved for public safety issues. Install BBQ’s, develop better configuration of current playground equipment. Upgrade bathroom locks.
• Three year Goals – Currently or will be completed July 2020: Bury gas lines. Remaining goals: Plant additional trees, add heat source to building. bury power-lines, address the structural issues of the building and paint, Install lighting within the park and build permanent shade/covered areas.
• Five year Goals – Install privacy fence on South end of park, New bathrooms and showers, secure grants to purchase new playground equipment:
